SHE'S HERE. SHE'S A LITTLE CHAOTIC. AND SHE'S ALL MINE.
Don’t Do Anything I Would Do is officially published!
OMG OMG OMG. I have been waiting years to say this…Don’t Do Anything I Would Do is officially published! She’s out there, in the wild, in all her unhinged glory. She’s raw. She’s messy. And she’s mine.
My baby girl came barreling into the world last Friday, 4/4 (you know I love my angel numbers), debuting as the #1 new release in the Divorce and Dating categories on Amazon like the queen she is.
I’ve been floating on my little pink cloud ever since, soaking up all your incredible messages and reviews, feeling so grateful that I believed in this book and had the guts to put it out there, even when it felt like the hardest thing in the world to do. And even more grateful that you don’t just like it, you fucking love it. You downloaded it at midnight when it was released and stayed up all night reading it. You read it in one sitting. You saw yourself in it.
This was hands-down, the hardest project of my life. You see, for the past three years, it’s just been me and this book. I’ve written it in three different apartments. In airports. On planes. In hotel rooms. In a man’s house that I thought would one day become our house (he’s in the book).
I’ve sat in front of my computer in a dark room at 2 AM, a glass of red wine by my side, sleepless, restless, and pouring my heart onto these pages.
I’ve cried so many tears when I felt completely paralyzed and couldn’t figure out how to say what I really wanted to say and also when the words flowed like honey.
I almost didn’t publish it.
I sobbed when I wrote the final sentence.
An author and her unpublished manuscript might be one of the most intimate relationships ever…
So if you’ve taken the time to read it, talk about it, or leave me a review, thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my little broken (but badass!) heart.
And if you'd like to order a copy, you can grab yours here.
More soon. For now I’m going to sit back and actually take this moment in (plot twist! that’s new for me!)
OH! If you’re in New York City, bookmark May 14th for the official Tortured Blogger’s Department Book Launch Extravaganza.
I have so much more to say. I’ll check in again very soon.
I love you like I once loved a bouquet of red flags,
Cara
